Graveyard holds remains of unidentified migrants
15m
Migrants from Latin America trying to cross the U.S. border always risk their lives during the journey. Many are often robbed, raped or physically wounded over the course of the trek. But crossing illegally into the United States from Mexico can be deadly as well.
In the past 25 years U.S. Border Patrol has found the bodies of 7,000 migrants from Mexico. Most of them died from either heat exhaustion or by drowning.
Many carried no identification so next-of-kin could not be contacted.
Correspondent Mike Kirsch visits a cemetery in California where some of them are buried.
