As the United States intensifies its crackdown on undocumented migrants, European countries are also shutting the doors to those seeking refuge and asylum.
In Europe, lawmakers have approved sweeping new measures to speed up deportations, expand detention, and establish migrant return hubs outside the EU.
In the United States, the Supreme Court has strengthened the Trump administration's authority to restrict asylum at the US-Mexico border and end Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians and Syrians.
