A van suddenly toppled into a sinkhole in New York City's Bronx borough on Monday after heavy rains pounded the area. The National Weather Service says the rain storms caused flash floods, temporarily closed roads and highways, and stranded drivers in areas of New York City, its northern suburbs and northeastern New Jersey.
