Meet the Chinese speaking prodigy - Tatum Howell.
Aged eight, Tatum Howell won the first place at the annual Chinese Bridge Competition (Texas region). The event is the largest international Chinese language learners competition annually hosted by the Confucius institute.
When asked what her motivation to learn the Chinese language was, this is what she said:
“When I grow up, I want to be a veterinarian. If a Chinese person comes in and they don’t know how to speak English, I could translate it to them.”
To her surprise, Howell met the Chinese Ambassador who was also impressed with her talent and proficiency.
