Connected to China tells the stories of the people who have built cultural, educational and economic ties with China that have helped foster mutual exchange and diplomacy. People with connections to China can be found throughout the world. Among them is Madelyn Ross, one of the first American students in the 1970s to study in China and who has since devoted her career to creating China-U.S. educational programs. Inspired by his study abroad trip in China, Joel Nkuubi now works with Chinese firms to build infrastructure in Uganda. In Spain, Alberto Cuellar has spread his passion for building traditional Spanish guitars to master guitar makers in China. As the planet gets warmer, Halldor Johannsson is one of the researchers behind a groundbreaking China-Iceland climate change research center.
